My first day in Diagon Alley was scary as I walked along the sidewalk, nervous as I can be. I already knew my house, Slytherin, so my robes was easy enough. My wand was going to be hard though. I wasn't sure how the wand choosing worked, so I was scared as I first walked into Ollivander's Wand Shop. My heart was racing and my hands shook as I walked up to the counter.
"Excuse me?" I said in a soft tone, clearly trying to keep calm, as I wonder what my wand would be. I was hoping for something small and easy to keep up with. I was forever losing things. The silver haired elderly man turned around, and looked at me.
"May I help you?" He inquired, his voice sounding wise with age, his eyes showing kindness from the bottom of his heart.
"Yes, um......I'm a first year. I need a wand." I said. He looked at me, sensing my nervousness. He quickly walked to one of the shelves in the back and took down a box.
"My dear, did you know the wand chooses the wizard, not the other way around?" He asked me as he opened a box. "Ten inches, Holly and Unicorn hair." He handed the wand to me. "Well go on. Give it a flick." I flicked it softly and boxes flew off the shelves. The kind wand maker shook his head. "Clearly you and this wand aren't right. Try this one." He said, handing me another. "Pine with a mermaid hair cord, nine inches."
I took a deep breath and flicked it. At that moment, a sudden breeze flew by me, and there was a bright light. This was my wand. I smiled as I paid the seven galleons it costed and walked out.
