2012!!!

Do you think 2012 would be the End of The World?

I dont think so... i mean its been predicted so many times and has never happened. Also no one could probably find out the end of the world easily

I'm under the impression that 2010 will be like Y2K. So the Mayan calendar ends at 2012? Maybe they didn't think their own civilization would last that long. I mean we generally don't think thousands of years ahead.

But presenting legitimate Evidence is the key to disprove the theory!

The recent amount of earthquakes and volcano eruptions all around the world seems to be a key signal that it's near.

You can't really present future evidence... You can make predictions, which is what the Mayans did, but that's not solid.

^ Uhh... yes they do. Have you even watched the movie? Earthquakes are what made the whole prediction thing come in, and then it soon happened.

There wouldn't be so much speculation right now if it weren't for the abnormal number of earthquakes in this year so far.

First. It is just a movie!

second. The world wont end that soon.

First, what other basis do you have of it? The movie is what brought this whole theory back up! If it weren't for it being made, no one, including us, would be having this conversation! I promise you.

Second, there is a possibility. The Earth is quite old, and there has to come the time when it just faults and begins to have problems. Some people say it's just a way for a planet to begin itself again. It will turn back to its original state once humans are gone. Nature will turn backwards and the whole planet will go back to it's forest-like state.

Hah you can't reference a movie when it comes to the end of our existance.

Also our Sun is older than the Earth but it's still considered a young star. I don't think the age of our planet has anything to do with whether or not we'll be destroyed.

^ Actually, yes it does. If you look it up online, the Earth is changing. Some of these changes are a chain - leading into something worse in the future. An example is these earthquakes. The Earth's tilt angle has changed by 2 degrees or something like that. I don't remember the exact number, but this means a change in the seasons somehow. They're changing in length.

Well, if I may point out, our north and south poles are changing with one another. Therefore we should be having earth quakes and volcano eruptions because the earth's plates are moving.

How are the poles changes? I thought they were just melting along with glaciers and icebergs.

not according to our paper. But They might be wrong. In any case the North pole is becoming the south pole and the south pole is becoming the North pole...apparently.

2012 will not be the end of the world. nor will the world be destroyed suddenly. it will be a gradual process that will take millions of years.


However we can take into consideration the possibility that 2012 is the beginning of the process.

the second phase of the process if u believed that 2000 was the end of the world

That is a ridiculous Theory Vella, poleshift are only an imaginable end to the world, there is not solid evidence to present the theory as legitimate! Neverthless it is nam,ed as the "Greatest Hoax of the 21st century" because, logically poleshift is not Possible!

If at all, World ends in 2012, it will be due to human activity and not any theories based on illogical and understated conspiracies

I agree with Aberforth. The poles names were given by us. Before that, they wasn't really anything spectacular going on there except for the magnetism.

And actually, i would like to point out that Magnetism, plays an important role in our dailylife, and its definitely something you dont want to alter! It has high implication on our normal life!
